HARRISBURG – Rep. Abby Major (R-Armstrong/Westmoreland) today announced due to a change in the online system for criminal background checks required for people interacting with minors, her office is no longer able to help constituents electronically process the clearances.
Major’s office can continue to explain the process and help fill out paper applications.
“Previously, my staff was able to assist constituents who lacked internet access with filing their background checks,” Major said. “A change was made in the system that now only allows an email address to be used once for background check applications. As a result, we have had to change how we can help residents in order to meet these new requirements.”
