HARRISBURG – Rep. Abby Major (R-Armstrong/Indiana/Butler) today issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s $43.7 billion budget proposal:
“While I have been in office for less than a year, it is obvious to me that the governor is living in a fantasy land. He spoke about our current budget surplus, but I know that this is only because the House Republicans have pushed back against his cradle-to-grave tax increases he has proposed during this tenure. Taking credit for someone else’s work is disingenuous.
“Today, he again offered a bloated spending plan that will put Pennsylvania in a tailspin. He is using arbitrary revenue and expenditure estimates to paper over the real effect his proposal would have on hard-working Pennsylvanians.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues to bring the governor back down to reality and draft a real budget that keeps Pennsylvania on the path to prosperity.”
